For today's post, I've revisited the pop up star mini album technique. I've made an attempt in the past at this type of mini album with the Mister collection--see original post here on the Authentique blog. I have to say that I prefer this current technique better. It's easier to add photos to the album as well as organize & manage. I do not have a tutorial for this album--unfortunately I could not find the time to make it. Between working from home during the day & then distance learning at night with my son; I'm busier now than I was before. However, if enough requests for a tutorial come in--I'll find some time in the near future to put one together.
I've used the adorable Purebred Pets collection for this album. The mini album was for sale in my Etsy shop, The Midnight Kraft Desk but has since sold. However, if you like this style of mini album, feel free to reach out to me either via my blog or through my Etsy shop & I can make this type of album in a theme of your choice.
The front of the album is kept pretty simple. I've added a bit of dimension to the dog by fussy cutting the image from a 2nd piece of designer paper & adhering it on top of the first image with foam pop dots. I then colored in his collar to add a splash of color.
The album measures 7 1/2" x 7 1/4" inches when closed. There are a total of five pages & has a ribbon closure.
Each page has a pop up element. These pop up mats measure 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" inches & can hold photos measuring up to 4 1/4" x 3 1/4" inches. On either side of the center pop up element is an additional space for photos. These mats measure 5 1/4" x 6 5/8" inches and can fit photos measuring up to 4" x 6" inches.
Each pop up page is decorated with different elements such as flaps, corner & middle belly bands, 3" x 4" inch cut-aparts & stickers from the Purebred collection.
Each pop up page was created by adhering one page to the other & in turn creating a large pocket. There are a total of four pockets in the album. Inside each pocket is a large photo mat measuring 7 1/4" x 7 1/4" inches. These photo mats can store several small photos or one large photo.
Since this is a pop up star mini album--the album can be opened & put on display on any shelf, desk or table.
The top view of the album clearly shows why these sort of albums are called 'star' mini albums. The album can be held open by using the ribbon or by using one of the decorative bone shaped paper clips that come with the album.
Supplies: Paper - Authentique 'Purebred Pets' collection, Card Stock - Paper Studio 65 lb, Other - Ribbon
Below is a video walk through of the album. These sort of albums are a bit difficult to photograph--so the video really helps to visually understand how this album works.
Enjoy & stay safe!
Would love a tutorial.
