Today's mini is a DT project I made for Authentique. I've used the 'Cuddle' collection both Boy & Girl for these minis. I created the Baby Girl mini first & loved the simplicity of it so much that I created one for my own little guy--and that's how I ended up with the 'twin' minis. :-)
The mini albums measure 5 3/4" inches by 2 3/4" inches & have a 3/8" inch spine. The inside is composed of zig zag accordion style pages that can hold up to 11 wallet size photos (3" x 2" inch photos). There are two pockets within the mini along with 2 tags in each pocket for journaling purposes.
For my mini, I've included photos of my son from his first year only. So they are mostly baby pictures of him.
The covers of the mini are made from heavy weight 110 lbs black card stock. It's an alternative to thin chipboard & I prefer it for this type of small mini. The covers are still sturdy & I don't have to take out the rotary cutter since I can cut the card stock right on my regular paper trimmer.
I've decorated the cover with a mini flocked teddy bear, fabric flower, heart shaped rhinestone & a small spray of mulberry paper flowers. The sentiment is part of the sticker sheet from the 'Cuddle' collection.
Here's the girl version. I've kept the decoration on the cover pretty much the same for both minis.
The Baby Girl mini is for sale in my Etsy shop, 'The Kraft Nook'. If interested feel free to visit my shop.
Below you'll find the video tutorial I made for this mini. It's a fairly simple album to make & makes for a quick gift or keepsake.
Enjoy!
Amazing!!!! Gorgeous project and idea!!! Thanks!!! xoxo

ReplyDeleteI am happily your newest follower! Hugs, Kathy Jo
Love your idea. I'm Going to make one for my grandson. Thank you
ReplyDeleteI made one similar at a make-and-take years ago, but I like this one better. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhere do you get your double sided tape? I like the rolls that you can tear off!
ReplyDeleteHi Sheryl, I use Scor Tape. It easily tears apart when I work with it. I don't buy it from one place in particular. I usually prowl the internet & buy it wherever I can find it the cheapest! :-)
DeleteHello. I just found your tutorial and I love your mini album. Could you please share what weight paper your tags are made with? Also, are they white paper backed with pattern paper? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy, the tags were made with 65lbs weight white card stock by Recollections. I get this card stock at Michaels. Then with a tag punch by Fiskars I punched out one tag from the white card stock & one tag from the Authentique designer paper & adhered them together. Hope this helps!
DeleteReally fun little project and wonderful instructions. Thank you!
